I'm Caroline. I'm an experienced online language teacher with a passion for languages and the learning process, as you can see from the many articles on the topic featured in my blog.
There's nothing I love more than to empower my students with a new language and I enjoy using my skills, experience, and creativity to reach that goal.
I was born and raised in Paris, and I've been living in the UK since 2003. I first started speaking English at the age of nine and I'm now trilingual French / English / Italian.
I have 20+ years of teaching experience (French/English) at university, in language schools, and giving private tuition. I specialise in teaching French to English speakers and English to French speakers. My in-depth knowledge of both languages, which means I'm particularly skilled at French-English difficulties.
I mostly teach adult learners (from 17 years old) and my packages, taster sessions, and courses are all online and tailored specifically to my students' needs.
My method
I have created a method based on my own experience as a learner, which is a radical departure from what we've all experienced at school because:

I explain what it means to learn a language and what the process is like,

I make sure you immediately put in practice what you've just learned to suit your own needs,

I show you how to speak without translating from your mother tongue,

I teach you how to layer your sentences with different language points, as opposed to learning each one in isolation,

I help you move away from the comfort of reading and writing, by offering you a safe learning space where mistakes are learning opportunities and actual communication (as opposed to 'perfect' sentences) is what matters the most.
My approach
My teaching is collaborative and built around your needs so you can:

take charge, actively learn, and feel confident when using a new language,

use your interests and hobbies to learn it. This way, half the comprehension work is done already and you're enjoying the process,
- let go of the fear of making mistakes and embarrassing yourself.
